چکیــــده:
Nowadays steel coupling beams are considered as efficient alternatives to reinforced concrete coupling beams, which can improve the ductility and seismic performance of the coupled shear wall systems. In this paper, the application of corrugated webs as an alternative to flat webs with stiffeners as a proposition for enhancing structural performance of such beams is investigated through detailed numerical simulations. Several models are developed based on some key geometrical parameters, viz. web-plate shape, web thickness, number of corrugations, and corrugation angle, and the structural performance of these models is evaluated via nonlinear pushover and cyclic analyses. It is shown that application of corrugated web makes it possible to achieve larger rotation capacity compared to that of commonly-used steel coupling beams. Moreover, the results of this study demonstrate that corrugated-web steel coupling beams possess appropriate energy absorption characteristics and are capable of dissipating the input energy in a quite desirable and efficient manner.

چکیده:
To reduce dynamic response of a semi-rigid frame with bolted connections, energy dissipation materials may be placed at a connection between the end plate and column flange or between the angle and member flange. In this article a three-span three bay frame with semi-rigid connections having three different capacities and energy dissipation materials analytically modeled by idealizing semi-rigid connection and energy dissipation materials as rotational spring and damper, respectively. The numerical model included nonlinear connection behavior, member yielding and geometrical nonlinearity of the structure. The pushover and dynamic analyses of the frames were performed using OPENSEES analysis program and dynamic analyses of frames with and without connection dampers show that there is an optimal damper damping coefficient by which the seismic responses of semi-rigid frame, including lateral displacements can be significantly reduced.

The Fantasy Variation (1.e4 c6 2.d4 d5 3.f3) is a tricky try by White to steer the game into muddy waters right from the off and take Black away from the solid positions he is accustomed to in the main line variations of the Caro-Kann. Traditionally the opening never gained too much credibility amongst top players, since White's attempt to preserve his pawn centre at the cost of weakening his kingside was hardly seen as a major threat to the super-reliable Caro.
