The erodibility of fine-grained sediments from the Hollandsch Diep freshwater system has been
measured using a portable EROMES system. The erosion experiments were carried out on natural
sediment surfaces sampled with a box-corer. The measured erosion thresholds varied between
0.16 and 0.70 N m 2. The erosion thresholds were positively correlated to the dry density of the
bed material (r 2 = 0.33) whereas no significant dependence was found on either grain size, organic
content or chlorophyll a content. The measured erosion rates varied between 0.04 and 1.68 g m -2
s -1 and a strong positive correlation with bed shear stress was observed. The equivalent settling
diameters of the eroded material were generally 5 to 10 times larger than that of the primary
particles which shows that the material was eroded as aggregates. However, a strong positive
correlation between the two settling diameters (r z = 0.74) also indicates that the coarser modes
of the primary grain size distributions affect size or density of the faster settling aggregates. The
lack of correlation between the erodibility and organic content and chlorophyll a content indicates
that microphytobenthos is not significantly modifying the erodibility of the sediments at the study
sites. The macrofaunal community is also poorly developed with few species and small numbers
of individuals and it is concluded that the erodibility is mainly controlled by accumulation rate,
dry density of the bed material and perhaps maximum current velocity at the sites. This is further
supported by the similarity with earlier measurements carried out on settled beds in laboratories.

Abstract: Watershed Management seems to be perceived by many as the only way to increase agricultural production in rainfed, marginal areas in India. Government of India and international donors are currently investing approximately 1000 millions USD / year into schemes dealing with watershed management. Unfortunately, more often than not, monitoring and evaluation does not get the required attention and therefore is very difficult to quantify or qualify the changes which have happened to natural resources but also to the livelihoods of people due to these programmes and in the long run to justify the need for these schemes. The Indo-German Bilateral Project “Watershed Management” is implementing since 1989 in 9 watersheds in 5 project regions throughout India participatory watershed programmes jointly through government departments and non-governmental organizations. From the beginning onwards the project focused strongly on monitoring and evaluating it’s activities
using a mix of participatory tools and scientific methd.
The paper will present and discuss a comparative evaluation of three adjacent watersheds
in North India (one treated in a participatory way (1,800 ha), one treated in a classical top-down
approach (3,500 ha) and one untreated control watershed (1,800 h

به نظر می‏رسد آبخیزداری توسط بسیاری از محققین به عنوان تنها راه افزایش تولید محصولات کشاورزی در مناطق دیم حاشیه‏ای در هند شناخته شده است. دولت هند و جوامع بین المللی کمک کننده در حال حاضر حدود 1000 میلیون دلار در سال برای طرح‏های آبخیزداری سرمایه گذاری کرده‏اند. متأسفانه در بیشتر آنها، به پایش و ارزیابی توجه نمی‏شود و در نتیجه بررسی میزان تغییرات در کمیت و کیفیت پروژه‏های اجرا شده قابل بررسی نیست ولی این طرح‏ها ‏برای معاش مردم ضروری است و مدنظر قرار دادن معاش مردم با توجه به این برنامه‏ها در دراز مدت نیاز به این طرح‏ها را توجیه می‏کنند.

بیش از یک دهه اینترنت با فراهم آوردن زیرساخت شبکه و ارتباطات، تاثیر قابل توجهی بر اقتصاد و جامعه ما داشته است. در اشتراک گذاری جهانی اطلاعات و رسانه ها، شبکه جهانی وب، عامل اصلی است. اینترنت با ظهور اتصال بی سیم پهن باند، با هزینه کمتر به بیشتر پایدارتر شدن ادامه می دهد. پیشرفت در تکنولوژی مربوط به جمع آوری داده، مانند دستگاه های جاسازی شده و فن آوری شناسایی امواج رادیویی باعث افزایش تعداد دستگاه هایی که به شبکه متصل شده و به طور مداوم داده منتقل می کنند، شده است. ادامه این روند به عنوان "اینترنت اشیا" متکامل می شود، جایی که در آن وب رسانه ای برای اشیا فراهم می کند تا تعاملی شوند. اگر چه امروزه کارهای زیادی روی اینترنت اشیا(IOT) انجام شده است، با چالش های بسیاری در محیط کنونی مواجه شده است. اجرای IOT برای کشورهای در حال توسعه ضروری است. روش های بکارگیری IOT نیاز به توسعه سریع دارد. نمایی کلی از اینترنت اشیا در زیر توضیح داده شده و همچنین شرح مختصری در مورد برنامه ها و چالش های پیش روی IOT ارائه می کند.

Abstract

Over a decade Internet has made a significant impact in our economy and society by bringing in remarkable networking infrastructure and communication. In global information and media sharing, World Wide Web has been a major driver. Internet is continuing to become more persistent, with the arrival of wireless broadband connectivity at low cost. Advancement in technology related to data collection, such as embedded devices and RIFD technology had led to increase in number of devices that are connected to the net and transmit the data continuously. The continuation of this trend is poised to evolve as an “Internet of Things” where the web will provide a medium for objects to become interactive. Although much of the work has done today on Internet of Things (IOT), it has been facing many challenges in the real time environment. The implementation of IOT is essential for the developing countries. The techniques for the application of IOT need to be developed rapidly. An overview of internet of things is illustrated below and also gives the brief description about the applications and challenges faced by the IOT.
